KONKHRA To Appear On Danish TV
February 19, 2003Danish extreme metallers KONKHRA will make a special appearance in an episode of "Unit One" ("Rejseholdet") on Danish TV. The series was recently awarded "Best Drama Series" at the 2002 International Emmy Awards in New York. In other news, a member of KONKHRA will appear in a "Synoptic" commercial, which will air in European countries some time later this year. Also on the KONKHRA front, the band have issued a statement via their web site explaining their decision to sign with Italy's Code666 Records for the release of their forthcoming fifth full-length CD, "Reality Check". "We signed a licensing deal with Code666, and that means that we also release under our own Chopshop Records at the same time, as well as on Code666," the group wrote. "We have talked to a number of labels for quite some time, some of whom are very BIG and KNOWN. But they offered shit money and we felt like we were going to be dealt with as every other newly signed act. That's why we choose this solution, we are in charge, we get paid, and we were feeling good about being the top-selling band on Diehard, and with a little luck we will do the same for Code666 and Chopshop. The distribution for our record is already better than ever in the past: we hit South Korea, Japan, Israel, Canada and several other countries directly for the first time with this record... (and, as mentioned, we will have a mail-order service from our site, so everybody everywhere will be able to put their hands on a copy.... and that's a promise guys, we will send them off ourselves goddammit!!!)
"The artwork is currently in the making: we've seen the first tries, and with a little more work we should have the cover ready within a short period of time. Expect something very different from our past covers, this one is just mean and ugly... we still have to set a release date for this fifth record of ours. Watch this space for details.
"Oh, and we had to turn down the Aaborg Metal Festival in Denmark once again: the money offered would just barely cover our trip to the other side of the country ( again...?). (we might love to play our metal, but it just has to make sense you know?)"
